1. Each region is different from another. The natural resources available in one country will be different from the ones available in a different region. They may not be the same.
2. Also, difference of climate in different countries affects the plants and animals in regions. It also ensures how different types of products can be grown or produced in a country. For example, tropical countries produce and export bananas, rice, cocoa, tea and coffee. On other hand, countries which snow covered for a major of the year, export meat and woollen products.
3. The size, distribution and diversity of people is found in various countries. This leads to different products and hence, trade occurs. Also, size of trade is affected. For example, the country with less population will depend more on trade because less human resources are engaged in production of goods.
4. Some parts of the world are known for their products and specific art and craft. They are valued all over the world. For example, Irarian carpets, Batik print of Indonesia; Kashmiri shawl, etc. have demands. This promotes the trade.
5. In this way, the geographical diversity of natural resources, climate, population and culture are responsible for trade to occur.

The geographical diversity is the set of physical, human and cultural elements differentiated from each other that converge in the relatively small geographic space that is part of the same zone, region or country. If you consider natural areas in the world, each region is different. The natural resources in one country will differ from those in other areas. There is variation in climate, soil, minerals, forest, relief, water supply etc. Depending upon the availability of geographical factors, there is a specialisation of certain economic activities in certain areas and trade from surplus areas to scarcity areas. For example, in one region, plenty of oil is available while in another, no oil reserves are available. This variation in oil distribution will be responsible for developing trade between oil-rich and oil-poor countries. Thus, geographical diversity is responsible for trade to occur.
