Question
Given below as Figure 13.8 is the distance-time graph of the motion of an object.
- What will be the position of the object in the 20s?
- What will be the distance travelled by the object in 12s?
- What is the average speed of the object?
Solution
i. At 20 s, the object will be 8 m away from the starting point.
ii. In 12 s, the distance travelled by the object will be 6 m.
iii. Average speed of the object Total
distance = `("Total distance")/("Time taken")`
= `(8"m")/(20"s")`
= 0.4m/s
