Question
Given below is a Mathematical term.
Find the percentage of consonants in the term.
Solution
In mathematical term “Perpendicular”,
Number of consonants = 8
Number of vowels = 5 (already calculated)
Tatal number of letters = Number of consonants + Number of vowels
= 8 + 5
= 13
Percentage of consonants = `"Numerical of consonants"/"Total number of letters" xx 100%`
= `8/13 xx 100%`
= 61.53%
Hence, percentage of constants is 61.53%.
