Let A : B = 2 : 3, B : C = 4 : 5 and C : D = 6 : 7
`"A"/"B" = (2)/(3), "B"/"C" = (4)/(5), "C"/"D" = (6)/(7)`
Multiplying `"A"/"B" xx "B"/"C" xx "C"/"D" = (2)/(3) xx (4)/(5) xx (6)/(7)`
∴ `"A"/"D" = (16)/(35)`
⇒ A : D = 16 : 35.
