If the difference between 75% of a number and 60% of the same number is 82.5, then find 20% of that number
Solution
Given that 75% of number less 60% of number is 82.5
Let the number be ‘x’
∴ `75/100 xx x - 60/100 xx x` = 82.5
∴ 0.75x – 0.60x = 82.5
∴ 0.15x = 82.5
∴ x = `82.5/0.15`
= `8250/15`
= 550
Required to find 20% of number i.e. 20% of x.
`20/100 xx x = 20/100 xx 550`
= 110
