If the value of determinants `|(3, 4),(-2, "x")|` is 23, then find the value of` x.
Solution
`|(3, 4),(-2, "x")|` = 23
3x - (- 8) = 23
3x + 8 = 23
3x = 23 - 8
∴ 3x =15
∴ x = `15/3`
∴x = 5
