Question
In a year, Ravi earns Rs 360000 and paid Rs 24000 as income tax. Find the ratio of his income tax to income after paying income tax.
Solution
Ravi’s annual income = Rs. 360000
Income tax paid by him = Rs. 24000
After paying income tax, the remaining amount of income
= Rs. (360000 – 24000)
= Rs. 336000
∴ The required ratio = `"The amount of income tax"/"The remaining amount of income after praying the income tax"`
= `(Rs. 24000)/(Rs. 336000) = 1/14` = 1:14
