Find the value of x, when 2.5 : 4 = x : 7.5.

Solution

We are given the proportion: `2.5/4 = x/7.5`

Cross-multiply to solve for x

2.5 × 7.5 = 4 × x

18.75 = 4x

`x = 18.75/4`

x = 4.6875
