In the figure given below, if AC = AD = CD = BD; find angle ABC.

Sum

Solution

In ΔACD,
AC = AD = CD ......[Given]
Hence, ACD is an equilateral triangle.

∴ ∠ACD = ∠CDA = ∠CAD = 60°

In ΔADB 

AD = DB

∠DAB = ∠ABD = Let x

x + x + 120° = 180°

`x = (180° - 120°)/2`

= 30°
