In the following find a and b 

(2a + b, a – b) = (8, 3)

Sum

Solution

Given that: (2a + b, a – b) = (8, 3)

Comparing the domains and ranges, we get

2a + b = 8  .....(i)

a – b = 3   .....(ii)

Solving (i) and (ii)

We get a = `11/3` and b = `2/3`
