Question

In the following find a and b

`(a/4, a - 2b)` = (0, 6 + b)

Sum

Solution

Given that: `(a/4, a - 2b)` = (0, 6 + b

Comparing the domains and ranges, we get

`a/4` = 0

⇒ a = 0, a – 2b = 6 + b

⇒ a – 3b = 6

⇒ 0 – 3b = 6

∴ b = – 2.

So, a = 0, b = – 2.
