In the given figure, AB || CD. Find the reflex ∠EFG.
Solution
Construct a line l parallel to AB, passing through F. l is parallel to both AB and CD.
Then, ∠1 = 34° ......[Alternative angles]
And ∠2 + 135° = 180° ......[Consecutive angles]
⇒ ∠2 = 180° – 135°
⇒ ∠2 = 45°
∴ ∠EFG = ∠1 + ∠2
⇒ ∠EFG = 34° + 45°
⇒ ∠EFG = 79°
∴ Reflex of ∠EFG = 360° – ∠EFG
= 360° – 79° ......[∵ ∠EFG = 79°]
= 281°
