In the given figure, two parallel lines l and m are cut by two transversals n and p. Find the values of x and y.
Solution
Since, l || m and p is a transversal.
∴ x + 66° = 180° ......[Co-interior angles]
⇒ x = 180° – 66° = 114°
Now, l || m and n is a transversal.
∴ y + 48° = 180° .....[Co-interior angles]
⇒ y = 180° – 48° = 132°
Thus, x = 114° and y = 132°
