Question
Murugan bought some bags of vegetables. Each bag weighs 20.55 kg. If the total weight of all the bags is 308.25 kg, how many bags did he buy?
Solution
Total weight of all bags = 308.25 kg
Weight of 1 bag = 20.55 kg
∴ Number of bags = `"Total weight"/"Weight of 1 bag"`
= `308.25/20.55`
= `((30825/100))/((2055/100))`
= `30825/100 xx 100/2055`
= `30825/2055`
= `2055/137`
= 15
∴ He bought 15 bags.
