Visit to City Library on World Reading Day
By Aarav Sharma, Editor, Sunrise Junior College Magazine:
To celebrate World Reading Day, our Junior College organized a visit to the City Library on 19th June 2024. A group of 50 students, along with faculty members, participated in this insightful trip aimed at promoting the habit of reading among young learners.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the Chief Librarian, Mr. Rajiv Mehta, who guided us through various sections of the library, including fiction, non-fiction, reference materials, and digital archives. Students explored different genres and learned about efficient book-search techniques, cataloging systems, and online resources available for research.
A special interactive session was conducted, where students shared their thoughts on the importance of reading in personal and academic growth. Many students also registered for library memberships, promising to enhance their reading habits.
The visit was an enriching and inspirational experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for books and knowledge.
