Question
Parmindar walks around a square park once and covers 800 m. What will be the area of this park?
Solution
Given, Distance covered in one around = 800 m
∵ Distance covered in one round = Perimeter of square park
⇒ 800 = 4 × side ......[∵ Perimeter = 4 × side]
⇒ `800/4 = (4 xx "side")/4` ......[Dividing both sides by 4]
⇒ Side = 200 m
Now, area of square = Side × Side
= 200 × 200
= 40000 sq m
