Six faces of a die are as shown below.

If the die is rolled once, find the probability of -‘D’ appears on upper face.

Solution

Total number of faces = 6

Number of faces having D = 1
Therefore, required probability = `\text {Number of faces having D}/text {Total number of faces}`

`=1/6`

Hence, the probability that ‘D’ appears on upper face is `=1/6`.
