Solve the following equation: 2x – 3 = 7

Sum

Solution

2x - 3 = 7

⇒ 2x - 3 + 3 = 7 + 3  ...(Adding 3 to both sides)

⇒ 2x = 10

⇒ `"2x"/2 = 10/2`  ....(Dividing by 2)

⇒ x = 2

∴ x = 5
