3y + 8 = 13
⇒ 3y + 8 - 8 = 13 - 8 ...(Substracting 8 from both sides)
⇒ 3y = 5
⇒ `"3y"/3 = 5/3` ....(Dividing by 3)
∴ y = `5/3 = 1 2/3`
