Solve the following.
If 20 meters of cloth cost ₹ 3600, find the cost of 16 m of cloth.
Solution
Cost of 20 m of cloth = ₹ 3,600
∴ Cost of 1 m of cloth = ₹ `3600/20 = ₹ 180`
⇒ Cost of 16 m of cloth = ₹ 180 × 16 = ₹ 2,880
Thus, the cost of 16 m of cloth is ₹ 2,880.
