1. This soil is rich in calcium carbonate, magnesium, potash, lime, and iron but deficient in phosphorous. It is clayey and impermeable which has a great capacity to retain moisture for a long time.
2. It becomes sticky when wet but develops cracks during the dry summer season. The soil is suited for dry farming due to its high moisture retentivity.
