Question
State properties of an ideal fluid.
Solution
An ideal fluid has the following properties:
- It is incompressible i.e., its density is constant.
- Its flow is irrotational i.e., its flow is smooth with no turbulence in the flow.
- It is non-viscous i.e., there is no internal friction in the flow and hence the fluid has no viscosity.
- Its flow is steady i.e., its velocity at each point is constant in time.
