Question
The distance between the school and a student’s house is 1 km 875 m. Every day she walks both ways. Find the total distance covered by her in six days.
Solution
Distance from school to home = 1 km 875 m = `1 km+ 875/1000km = 1.875km`
Every day this distance is covered twice by the student,
Distance covered by the student in one day = 1.875 × 2 = 3.750 km
Distance covered by the student in 6 days = 3.750 × 6 = 22.500 m
Hence, the total distance covered by the student in 6 days will be 22 km 500 m.
