Question

The equation of a line AB is 2x – 2y + 3 = 0.

  1. Find the slope of the line AB.
  2. Calculate the angle that the line AB makes with the positive direction of the x-axis.
Sum

Solution

i. 2x − 2y + 3 = 0

2y = 2x + 3

`y = x +3/2`

Slope of the line AB = 1

ii. Required angle = θ

Slope = tan θ = 1 = tan 45°

θ = 45°
