Question
The length of a rectangle is 3 cm more than its breadth. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 18cm, find the length and breadth of the rectangle.
Solution
Let the length of the rectangular be (x + 3)cm and breadth be x cm.
Given, the perimeter of a rectangular field is 18m.
⇒ 2(x + x + 3) = 18m
⇒ 2(2x + 3) = 18m
⇒ 2x + 3 = 9
⇒ 2x = 6
⇒ x = 3cm
Thus, the length of the rectangle is 6cm and breadth is 3cm.
