The length of a rectangle is 30 more than its breadth. The perimeter of the rectangle is 180 cm. Find the length and breadth of the rectangle.
Solution
Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm.
Then, length is (x + 30)cm.
Given, The perimeter of the rectangle is 180cm.
⇒ 2(length x breadth) = 180cm
⇒ 2(x + x + 30)cm = 180cm
⇒ 2x + 30 = 90cm
⇒ 2x = 60cm
⇒ x = 30cm
Thus, the breadth of the rectangle is 30cm.
Then, length is 60cm.
