Sum

Solution

Sales Tax =`("marked price" xx "rate of sales tax")/100`

Amount = marked price + sales tax

(i) Marked price= Rs 1,750
Rate of sales tax = 8.5%

sales tax = `"Rs"(1,750 xx 8.5)/100="Rs" 148.75`

Amount = Rs (1,750 + 148.75) = Rs 1898.75

(ii) Marked price =Rs 14,840
Rate of sales tax = 7 .5%

Sales tax = `"Rs"(14,840 xx 7.5)/100="Rs"1113`

Amount = Rs (14,840 + 1113) = Rs 15,953

(iii)Marked price= Rs 32,725
Rate of sales tax = 12%

Sales tax = `"Rs"(32,725 xx 12)/100="Rs"3,927`

Amount = Rs (32,725 + 3,927) =Rs 36,652

(iv) Marked price= Rs 16,000
Rate of sales tax = 11.5°/o

Sales tax = `"Rs"(16,000 xx 11.5)/100="Rs1,840"`

Amount = Rs ( 16.000 + 1.840) = Rs 17,840

(v) Marked price= Rs 28,975
Rate of sales tax = 16%

Sales tax = `"Rs"(28,975 xx 16)/100="Rs"4,636`

Amount= Rs (28,975 + 4,636) =Rs 33,611

(vi)Marked price= Rs 1,260
Rate of sales tax = 10%

Sales tax = `"Rs"(1,260 xx 10)/100="Rs"126`

Amount= Rs ( 1,260 + 126) =Rs 1,385

(vii)Marked price= Rs 4,500
Rate of sales tax = 9%

Sales tax = `"Rs"(4,500 xx 9)/100="Rs"405`

Amount = Rs ( 4,500 + 405) = Rs 4,905

(viii) Marked price= Rs 21,650
Rate of sales tax = 14°/o

Sales tax = `"Rs"(21,650 xx 14)/100="Rs"3,031`

Amount = Rs (21,650 + 3,031) =Rs 24,681
