MCQ

Solution

The given data is 0, 2, 2, 2, -3, 5, -1, 5, 5, -3, 6, 6, 5 and 6.

Arranging the given data in ascending order, we have

-3, -3, -1, 0, 2, 2, 2, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6

Here, the number of observation n=14 , which is an even number.

Hence, the median is

`((n/2)^(th) "observation" +(n/2+1)^(th) "observation" )/2`

`=((14/2)^(th) "observation"  +(14/2+1)^(th) "observation" )/2`

`=(7^(th) "observation " +8^(th)"observation ")/2`

`=(2+5)/2`

`=7/2`

`=3.5`
