Question
Using a ruler and compasses only, construct a rhombus whose diagonals are 8 cm and 6 cm. Measure the length of its one side.
Solution
Steps :
- Draw BD = 8 cm.
- Draw perpendicular bisector PQ of BD.
- Cut OA = OC = 3 cm [half the diagonal 6 cm]
- Join AB, AD, BC, and CD.
- Measure side AB which is 5 cm.
Thus ABCD is the required rhombus.
