Using a ruler and compasses only, construct a rhombus whose diagonals are 8 cm and 6 cm. Measure the length of its one side.

Steps :

  1. Draw BD = 8 cm.
  2. Draw perpendicular bisector PQ of BD.
  3. Cut OA = OC = 3 cm [half the diagonal 6 cm]
  4. Join AB, AD, BC, and CD.
  5. Measure side AB which is 5 cm.
    Thus ABCD is the required rhombus.
