Water pollution is produced by the addition of:

unfavourable compounds such as fertilisers and pesticides, as well as any harmful substances, to bodies of water.
-
sewage, entering directly into the water body.

hot water from the power plant, which raises the temperature and decreases the dissolved oxygen in the water & kills aquatic life.

-
Sewer pipes should not be connected directly to water bodies.
-
We should not dispose of garbage or household waste in water bodies.
