The ‘Uniting for Peace Resolution’ was adopted by the General Assembly on 3rd November, 1950. The General Assembly was authorized to take action if the Security Council failed to do so on account of lack of unanimity of its permanent members, in a situation of threat to international peace, breach of peace or threat of aggression.
