There is a force known as the frictional force that generally opposes the movement of two bodies in touch when they are in contact. The force that prevents a solid surface, fluid layer, or two moving parts from sliding across one another is called friction. When two surfaces move or attempt to move across one another, friction is created. It always opposes the movement of one surface across another so that it could be actual or attempted.
