Question
What number should be added to `8 2/3` to `12 5/6`.
Solution
For finding the required fraction, we have
to subtract `8 2/3` from `12 5/6`
∴ Required number = `12 5/6 - 8 2/3`
`= 77/6 - 26/3`
`= (77 xx 1)/(6 xx 1) - (26 xx 2)/(3 xx 2)` (∵ L.C.M. of 3 and 6 = 6)
`= (77 - 52)/6 = 25/6 = 4 1/6`
