Question
What will happen if there are no platelets in the blood?
Solution 1
- The platelets are responsible for clotting the blood. When an injury occurs, blood starts flowing, but it clots on its own.
- If there are no platelets, the blood will not be able to clot and keep on flowing. A huge loss of blood ultimately causes death.
Solution 2
- The platelets found in the blood protect the body. When germs enter the body, these blood cells attack and destroy them, and the body does not suffer from disease.
- Therefore, the function of these cells is like that of a soldier. In their presence, we cannot fall ill.
