Mr. Sletherby had left Mr. Bertie, Mrs. Honario Saltpen-Jago’s younger son on his way to Brill Manor in a railway station penniless and frustrated. He had not believed Bertie’s. description of his mom’s dark brown hair and the family’s double crest. When the footman Mr. KC commented on Mrs. Saltpen’s changed Looks, Mr. Sletherby was alarmed and he realized that he had behaved in a mean way. He had mistaken Bertie to be a fraud. Thus K.C.’s words had shocked Mr. Sletherby.
