The immune system of our body acts as a defence mechanism to fight against pathogenic microbes. It has cells that are specialised to kill infecting microbes and protect us from diseases. The immune cells manage to kill oh the infection long before it assumes major proportions. A strong immune system is thus essential to keep us healthy.
