Solution
5 cm = 500 metres
As, 1 m = 100 cm
500 m = 100 × 500 cm
= 50,000 cm
Since, R.F. = Distance on the map (in cm)
Distance on the ground (in cm)
R.F. = `5/(50,000)`
= `1/(10,000)`
Thus, R.F. is 1 : 10,000
