Solution
Appreciation of the poem “A Teenager’s Prayer”
- Title of the poem: “A Teenager’s Prayer”
- Name of Poet: J. Morse
- Rhyme Scheme: ‘abcb’
- Favourite Lines:
“Help, Lord, to just say “no”
When temptation comes my way.”“That life is lived its very best
With you walking next to me” - Theme/Central Idea: A teenager's wish to be able to make wise decisions that lead to success in life is the poem's main theme. The teen asks the Lord to aid him on his journey through life and to be with him while he makes crucial decisions on a regular basis. He merely wants to make the appropriate decision that keeps his mind clear and keeps him away from any temptations or paths that could cause him to experience hardship. It is a lovely poem that illustrates how a young person desires to act morally but needs the Lord's guidance to keep him from straying from the right moral course.

- I enjoy this poem because I can identify with its theme. It relates to my own aspirations and goals to succeed in life and have my Lord by my side every step of the way.
