- Action-Oriented: Human resource management focusses on action rather than record-keeping or procedures. It stresses the solution of personnel problems to achieve both organisational objectives and employees' personal goals.
- Individual-Oriented: Under human resource management, every employee is considered an individual so as to provide services and programmes to facilitate employee satisfaction and growth.
- Future-Oriented: Human resource management is concerned with helping an organisation achieve its objectives in the future by providing competent and well-motivated employees. It attempts to obtain the willing cooperation of people for the attainment of desired objectives.
- Young Discipline: Human resource management is of comparatively recent origin. It started in the last part of the 19th century. It is a relatively new specialised area as compared to manufacturing and marketing.
