Question
Write the ratio of total surface area to the curved surface area of a cylinder of radius rand height h.
Solution
Total Surface Area of a cylinder = `2pirh + 2pir^2`
Curved Surface Area of a cylinder = `2pirh`
Ratio of Total Surface Area (TSA) to Curved Surface Area (CSA) is given by,
`(TSA)/(CSA) = (2pirh + 2pir^2)/(2pirh)`
=`(2pir(h +r))/(2pirh)`
= `(h+r)/h`
The ratio of Total Surface Area to Curved Surface Area is (h+r): h
