Write the rational number whose numerator and denominator are respectively as under:

35 ÷ (–7) and 35 – 18

Solution

Given, 35 ÷ (–7) and 35 – 18

Let numerator, p = `35 ÷ (-7) = 35/(-7)` = –5

and denominator, q = 35 – 18 = 17

Hence, rational number = `p/q = (-5)/17`.
