Question

x-4x-5+x-6x-7=313,x5,7

Solution

x-4x-5+x-6x-7=313,x5,7

(x-4)(x-7)+(x-5)(x-6)x2-12x+35=103

x2-11x+28+x2-11x+30x2-12x+35=103

2x2-22x+58x2-12x+35=103

x2-22x+29x2-12x+35=53

x2-11x+29x2-12x+35=53

3x2-33x+87=5x2-60x+175

2x2-27x+88=0

2x2-16x11x+88=0

2x(x-8)-11(x-8)=0

(x-8)(2x-11)=0

x-8=0 or 2x-11=0

x=8 or x=112

Hence, 8 and 112 are the roots of the given equation.
