Applied History and Our Present:
- People often question the practical application of history. The answer to this question is a branch of history known as applied history.
- There exist invisible and visible relics of the past in present. We become curious and attracted to view those relics. We try to learn those because it represents the thoughts and traditions of our ancestors. It is our legacy.
- It aids in forming our sense of self. Our origins are connected to us via the history of our ancestry. Because of this, it must be protected and conserved for the sake of both current and future generations.
Uses of Applied History:
- Applied history helps to protect and conserve our tangible and intangible heritage.
- Management of cultural resources generates employment possibilities.
- Applied history is the process of using history to understand the present and determine the best course of action for the future.
