Summary
This story has many characters, and it begins with telling us all their names. It starts with everyone getting up in the morning and not receiving their regular stuff. For example, Mr. Desai did not receive the newspaper. He asked Mr Patel, but he said no one had turned up that morning. He did not receive the newspaper or any milk, and they both noticed the amount of dirt and garbage on the streets. Mr Desai says that the street was clean last night when he returned home. Mrs. Joshi and her daughter Madhu entered, but Madhu tripped over something and got hurt. Her mother went to see her, and she was bleeding. They went, got some ice and called the doctor immediately. The doctor came and said she would dress up the wound, and it would be fine, but they still never knew where all the garbage came from. Then they saw the newspaper boy and the milkman, and they asked him where his cycle was and why he was so late. He said his tyre burst, and he had to carry the milk. The newspaper boy tripped over a tyre and sprained his leg. The school bus driver came and said that he couldn't drive the bus to school today as there was trash everywhere. They agreed and said that they would let the mayor know. Then, a hawker said they should call her to see it for herself. They all agreed. They went and called him. He came and said something disgusting and asked if they didn't dispose of their garbage properly. They all said that they did. They said they gave it to the sanitation worker or dumped it near the river. So the mayor asked, then, how it came back here. The bus driver says that was the problem; no one knows. How did it get back here? They went on to say that someone did it to cause danger to their lives. Then suddenly, the animals enter and say that they are responsible. They say we take all the dirt and put it where they say. So, my animals die because of the garbage in the forest, and how many fish die because of the chemicals and poisons in the water? All the other animals drink the same water. All the humans agreed to them, started to clean up the mess on their own and apologised for their actions. They got a better solution to dump their waste; they said they would begin separating it.
