प्रश्न

If `x + (6)/"a"` = 11, find the value of a when `4(1)/(3) - (3x - 4)/(5) = (x - 7)/(3)`.

योग

उत्तर

`x + (6)/"a"` = 11

⇒ `("a"x + 6)/"a"` = 11

On Cross - Multiplying, we get:
ax + 6 = 11a

⇒ x = `(11"a" - 6)/"a"`------(1)

`4(1)/(3) - (3x - 4)/(5) = (x - 7)/(3)`

⇒ `(13)/(3) - (3x - 4)/(5) = (x - 7)/(3)`

⇒ `(13 xx 5 - 3(3x - 4))/(15) = (x - 7)/(3)`

⇒ `(65 - 9x + 12)/(5)` = x - 7

Cross multiplying,
5(x - 7) = 77 - 9x
⇒ 5x + 9x = 77 + 35
⇒ 14x = 112

⇒ x = `(112)/(14)` = 8 -------(2)
From (1) and (2),

`(11"a" - 6)/"a"` = 8

⇒ 8a = 11a - 6
⇒ 6 = 3a or a = 2.
