प्रश्न
In fission of one uranium - 235 nucleus, the loss in mass is 0.2 a.m.u. Calculate the energy released.
उत्तर
Loss in mass = Δm = 0.2 a.m.u.
1 MeV = 1.6 × 10-13J
1 a.m.u. = 1.66 × 10-27 kg
Energy released E = `(Δm xx 1.66 xx 10^-27 xx c^2)/(1.6 xx 10^(-13))`
= `(0.2 xx 1.66 xx 10^-27 xx 3 xx 10^8 xx 3 xx 10^8)/(1.6 xx 10^-13)`
= 186.2 MeV
