प्रश्न

Solve the following simultaneous equation graphically.

x – 3y = 1 ; 3x – 2y + 4 = 0

उत्तर

x - 3y = 1
x - 1 = 3y
∴ 3y = x - 1
∴ y = `(x - 1)/3`

x 1 4 7
y 0 1 2
(x,y) (1,0) (4,1) (7,2)

3x – 2y + 4 = 0
3x + 4 = 2y
2y = 3x + 4
∴ y - `(3x + 4)/2`

x 0 2 -2
y 2 5 -1
(x,y) (0,2) (2,5) (-2,-1)

The solution of the given equations is the point of intersection of the two lines, i.e. (\[- 2, - 1\]
