Let the two consecutive multiplies of 10 be 10x and 10x + 10.

⇒ 20x = 200
⇒ `(20x)/20 = 200/20` ...[Dividing both sides by 20]
∴ x = 10
Hence, the smaller multiple is 10 × 10, i.e. 100.
