प्रश्न
Which of the following would produce analog signals and which would produce digital signals?
- A vibrating tuning fork.
- Musical sound due to a vibrating sitar string.
- Light pulse.
- Output of NAND gate.
उत्तर
Analog and digital signals are the gateways of information or we can say that they are used to transmit information through electric signals. In both these signals, the information such as any audio or video is transformed into electric signals.
The difference between analogue and digital technologies is that in analogue technology, information is translated into electric pulses of varying amplitude. In digital technology, the translation of information is into binary format (zero or one) where each bit is representative of two distinct amplitudes. So, the output of a NAND gate and a light pulse produces a digital signal.
Thus, (a) and (b) would produce analogue signals and (c) and (d) would produce digital signals.
