प्रश्न

A solid is in the shape of a cone surmounted on a hemisphere, the radius of each of them is being 3.5 cm and the total height of solid is 9.5 cm. Find the volume of the solid. (Use π = 22/7).

उत्तर

We have,

r1 = radius of the cone = 3.5 cm

h1 = height of the cone = 9.5 - 3.5 = 6 cm

r2 = radius of the hemisphere = 3.5 cm

∴ Volume of the solid = Volume of the cone +Volume of the hemisphere

`= 1/3pir_1^2h_1+2/3pir_2^3`

`=1/3pixx(3.5)^2x6+2/3pixx(3.5)^3`

`=(1/3xx22/7xx73.5+2/3xx22/7xx42.87)`

= 77 + 8.9.82

= 166.82 cm3
